Home Decor Week 4 – Ceramics

I've always loved pottery. Infact I have quite the collection building of handmade pottery from Ireland and the U.S.

I was very excited about this weeks class. However the week ran away from me and I was left with just my sketches and a day to work on some type explorations and ceramic styling. So here it is.

There was more in the sketchbook than made it to the page but here is where I netted out.

Weeks 1-3 of my Home Decor Class

I decided to challenge myself in a market I used to be more familiar with when I worked for Torc Candles in Ireland. As the in-house designer and product developer, I travelled through Europe to trade fairs to see upcoming market trends and meet with buyers from Ireland and the U.K. This is a far cry now from what I do today for a global design firm in Chicago.

I love illustration and home decor so I signed up for Lilla Rogers 5 week boot camp class. It has been a challenge, between pitches, managing a team and daily work load, being a mother getting home in time for dinner and school work and still find time and energy to do the class.

Even though I haven't given it the time I wanted to, I have tried to put something up every week.
